Did you know that regular alkaline batteries are not good for curbside recycling?
But people put them in trash and then these batteries go into landfill. That is not good too.
That’s why one of the items in our program is regular alkaline batteries.
When I had collected a bunch of batteries from our neighbors, I decided to drop them off at Batteries Plus. They accept batteries for recycling.
The folks at the store in Round Rock were really friendly. I spoke with them about Fun Fit Recycle. We discussed how important it was to think about our environment.
When I was leaving, I saw a lady come in with her old batteries. It was very good to see that.
I was happy that I’m helping people out with this. And thank you to Batteries Plus too.
One day we’ll have a community leader in every area so people don’t have to do this on their own. Imagine the gas and electricity that would reduce!
